Senior Engineer, Propulsion System Safety


Location: Washington State, USA and Japan, Asia

Essential Requirements:

The engineer will be mainly in charge of safety analysis under “Unit 3” (propulsion system). The engineer will also be in charge of other activities of Unit 3 under direction of Unit 3 Engineering Leader or Program Manager. Followings are the main tasks, but not limited to.’

  • Creating safety documents such as SSA, FTA, FMEA, CMA and ZSA in compliance with APR4761
  • Evaluation of impact on the aircraft caused by engine malfunction, utilizing the knowledge of the engine, aircraft system and performance and pilot operation
  • Creating safety specification (severity) in compliance with the regulations, utilizing the knowledge of the safety regulation Advisory Circular
  • Analysis of impact on the engine caused by a related system’s failure, through coordination members of other engineering divisions
  • Coordination of failure factors and impact evaluation with partner and authorities
  • Create necessary documents to report items to higher managements, aviation authorities, internal other units or partners and so on
  • Lead a meeting safety matters with aviation authorities, internal other units, partners and so on
  • Provide weekly and daily reports to flight safety leader, EL and PM
  • Other activities related propulsion engineering/ development activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering Technical Aviation with 5 years. aviation related experience, or
    5+ years in an aviation engineering organization Aerospace or Aircraft Systems Engineering
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles
  • Ability to identify potential issues with machinery development, manufacturing processes or parts
  • Needs the ability to develop, plan and implement short and long term goal
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Experience for mechanical system (engine, fuel, fire protection, etc) Safety Analysis
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a safety analysis engineer
  • Experience on SSA, FTA, FMEA, CMA and ZSA in compliance with APR4761
  • Proficiency in English and open-mindedness for non-native speakers
  • Values teamwork and contributes to harmonious work environment
