Accounting and Financial Analyst – Florida

Title of Position:  Accounting and Financial Analyst

Employment Location:  Vero Beach, FL

Position objective/summary:

A dynamic and motivated Manager of Accounting and Financial Analyst is required to work with the Head of Finance and alongside the Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director to process and maintain a successful financial department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete large part of the monthly Management Accounts. Complete variance analysis and explain to Head of Finance
  • Completing and filing monthly Sales Tax returns
  • Manage Purchase and Sales ledger. Ensure that outstanding balances are regularly reviewed.
  • Review Bank reconciliations
  • Develop understanding of Flightlogger and how to check information
  • Develop IPlicit/ Lightyear. Work with UK finance to ensure that the system is used as efficiently as possible
  • Managing and tracking student payments
  • Communication with student Pilots to ensure payment plans are received on time.
  • Work with Operations to ensure that student information (hours completed and ATAs) is forwarded to the UK in a timely manner
  • Submit original invoices to the UK in a timely manner
  • Expense claims
  • Petty cash
  • Ensure that all Balance Sheet accounts that you are in control of are reconciled monthly and report to Head of Finance
  • Regular analysis of Deferred income balances
  • Identifying any risk on the balances
  • If there are any ‘debit balances’, identify why this is and whether that could mean that there are potentially other issues building on the Balance Sheet
  • On completion of training, identify any material variances and explain such variances.
  • Managing and approving payment runs using On-line Banking
  • Audit SAMS to ensure manual input error are kept to minimum
  • Assess product profitability and drive profit optimization
  • Develop and analyze any capital and/or operational initiatives to determine potential financial and budget impact.
  • Assist departmental budget holders in monthly analysis of budget variances.
  • Partner with functional leaders to prepare forecasts and identify associated risks and opportunities
  • Work with Payroll on Instructor hours
  • Work closely with teammates within the department to help develop skillset and build a strong team
  • Complete ad hoc accounting projects as required
