Aerospace Manufacturing – Quality Analyst        


Description:

Works under the general direction of the Quality Manager, or designee, with minimum supervision and is responsible for a broad range of Quality analyses, procedures and training that impacts product quality and/or production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively and cross functionally to standardize data collection and reduce cost of data acquisition.
  • Creates internal databases for tracking and record retention.
  • Responsible for both the data integrity and user interface.
  • Creates and modifies Excel macros to improve speed of data analysis
  • Reports out to management in form of trend charts, pareto, and raw data for internal metrics such as FPY, Scrap, and Nonconformance data.
  • Notes patterns and data points, advice on findings and recommend strategy to address.
  • Drives cross functional support teams conducting and leading statistical processes in order to write/build complex database projects.
  • Provides direct support for new business development by expanding current databases of statistical methodologies and demonstrating applicability to new projects.
  • May develop and implement training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials, testing and evaluation procedures where necessary.
  • May use a variety of Quality methodologies such as SPC, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analyses, etc. to develop data and conclusions.
  • Notes patterns and data points, advice on findings and recommend strategy to address.
  • Responsible for interpretation of customer design drawings/3D MBD as well as ability to educate others on the interpretation and measurement of parts and tooling.
  • Responsible for leading complex statistical implementations, using tools such as Design of Experiment (DOE), Real Time Data Input, and/or Root Cause Analysis.
  • Will review design change submittals from customers for impact to the organization as well as implementation evaluation and planning.
  • Will follow up with validation that the change was implemented on specific unit numbers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field or 7-10 years related experience in a Quality organization.
  2. Must have 3-5 years’ experience creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Access or other database.
  3. Must have 3-5 years creating and troubleshooting Excel Macros.
  4. Must have experience driving improvement in the organization through facts and data.
  5. Six Sigma preferred.
  6. Exceptional computer skills.
  7. Effective interpersonal/communication skills.
  8. Strong analytical and IT skills are essential in order to share findings with colleagues and customers.
  9. Ability to develop and write education/training materials that effectively communicate material consistent with adult learning theory.
