Title of position: Assistant Director Stores Operations

Summary/Objective: The Assistant Director Stores Operations is responsible for ensuring that each base is executing to the maximum levels of efficiency with regard to the receipt, storage, issuance, transfer and shipment of all aviation materials related to the operation. Working in conjunction with the Director of Supply Chain Operations, this position engages Stores Management to ensure that training and process development are ongoing to develop the stores personnel for growth and advancement in the company. They will be a key catalyst for the development of uniformity throughout the bases and unmanned locations with forward-positioned materials.

Responsibilities: The Assistant Director Stores Operations reports to the VP Finance & Supply Chain and is responsible for the following:
• Assist and support the Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering and other senior management in projecting a strong commitment to the uncompromising promotion of safety and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership in the areas of personnel development, finance, productivity, and accountability.
• Assist Director of Supply Chain Operations in development and implementation of performance KPI’s.
• Drive continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
• Assist in the development of stores budgets and cost projections.
• Maintain cost within assigned budgets.
• Ability to identify efficiency roadblocks, develop strategic initiatives, and execute on processes to remove barriers to success.
• Ensures that the Stores Management team is consistently trained and following policies and procedures within the day-to-day operations, including but not limited to:
Shipping, receiving, transfers and packaging
Cycle count continuity
Empty bin status and reorder
Monitoring of tooling and inventory control.
Use of key functions and tools to address missing or lost materials and monitors for compliance.
• Serves as an auxiliary trainer for INDOC and HAZMAT certifications for Stores Personnel.
• Audits stores processes to ensure that we are uniformly compliant, consistent, and within company processes and procedures.
• Reviews and assists in demand scheduling to ensure optimal coverage.
• Performs project management functions relative to:
Planned Physical Inventories
Annual Tool Calibration
Implementation of new initiatives (CL+, Barcoding, Data Migration, RFID, etc.)
Development and improvement of metrics including, but not limited to Cycle Count Accuracy, Cycle Count Completions, Fill rates relative to Right Start and Controllable Completion Factors as the opportunities arise.
DOD base audits
IATA audits
• Other projects as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with an expectation of occasional evening and weekend hours as job duties demand.
Travel: Position will involve travel to all locations where stores materials and personnel reside throughout the year.
Required Education and Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent experience required.
– Valid driver’s license.
– At least four years of aviation related experience preferred, Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
– Ability to speak/read/write in English.
– Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Must be able to obtain airport SIDA badging, Hazmat Shipping Certification and the ability to become a Hazmat trainer required.
