Summary:

Instructors will train foreign military students to produce qualified technicians in their assigned specialties who are able to maintain aircraft systems, subsystems, support equipment, and/or provide logistics support and expertise with little or no supervision. Training shall provide students specialty Upgrade Training to elevate skills from 3-level to 5-level, 5-level to 7-level, on F-15SA aircraft, GE engines, and associated support services for the following specialty:  AFE.

The Aircrew Flight Equipment Technician is responsible for issuing, inspecting, maintaining, testing and adjusting aircrew flight equipment.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform in-shop quality assurance inspections and other types of aircrew life support system inspections.
  2. Provide initial and recurring AFE-related instruction for aircrews.
  3. Participate in all unit self-inspections and exercises.
  4. Maintain instructor certifications and conduct instruction in aircrew training requirements.
  5. Write lesson plans as required to meet specific RSAF training differences.
  6. Issue, fit, inspect, test, maintain, train and instruct maintenance on aircrew flight equipment.
  7. Inspect, test, maintain and instruct removal and installation of aircrew life support survival equipment on or off aircraft, including survival kits, parachutes, life rafts and CO2 cylinders.
  8. Maintain accountability documentation on aircrew flight equipment issued to aircrew and prepositioned on aircraft.
  9. Utilize and update computer systems.
  10. Participate in unit, group and wing ancillary programs related to AFE.
  11. Assist during operational readiness exercises and inspections as required.

Required Educational/Skills Background:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Four years’ previous experience in flight equipment maintenance.
  3. Hold a 7-level (craftsman) experience level in AFE.
  4. Previous instructor qualification highly desired.
  5. Proficiency utilizing various types of test equipment to conduct reliability testing on aircrew flight equipment.
  6. Handling of low explosive items is required along with explosives safety training.
