FAR 135 VP of Charter Operations – Long Island, NY area

Title of Position: VP, Charter Operations
Employment Location: Farmingdale, NY (Long Island/Farmingdale, NY based but possible to work 2-3 days a week in Farmingdale, NY office at the Republic Airport and the remainder of time can be remote).
Summary
Well-established and growing Long Island-based aircraft management and charter company seeks a proven charter operations management executive. This individual will oversee the Charter Ops and Scheduling Departments managing a team of eight charter coordinators who ensure that all flights (Part 135 and Part 91) are handled flawlessly.

- Minimum of 7 years RECENT FAR 135 Flight Charter Coordination leadership experience – experience managing a team of FAR 135 Flight Coordinators/Followers, Dispatch, etc. – Must be currently working for a Part 135 Charter flight company
- Experience using JetInsight (preferred)
- Successful history in charter operations and leadership management
- Manage a team of eight professionals who handle all dispatch and flight coordination 24 hours per day/7 days per week.
- The team performs these tasks below, but the person we’re looking for is the leader of the team…a much more senior level position:
- Coordinate all Owner and Charter flight services 24/7 including: scheduling, revisions, permits, clearances, ground handling, aircraft storage away from home base, passenger ground transportation, catering, and special concierge services.
- Arrange aircraft handling with FBOs
- Pre-and-post communication with flight crews
- Ability to collaborate well with individuals across the organization
- Ability to guide and mentor operations staff
- Ability to design and implement a successful operations strategy
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
- Outstanding planning, organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to make sound decisions in a timely and confident manner
- Advanced time management skills
- Ability to build and maintain the respect of clients and co-workers
- Knowledge of quoting and operations systems, JetInsight is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
