Title:  FAR 141 Flight School Director of Operations/Lead Dispatcher

Job Summary:

Director of Operations/Lead Dispatcher for FAR 141 Flight School in Florida responsible for the smooth operation of the flight department by ensuring the proper execution of the day-to-day flight schedule.  The Director of Operations/Lead Dispatcher is also responsible for performing customer service duties to include greeting customers and answering phones.  The Director of Operations/Lead Dispatcher is required to maintain organization of the flight dispatch/operations control area.

Job Responsibilities:

Director of Operations/Lead Dispatcher duties include but are not limited to:

• Reviewing student flight plans.
• Reviewing aircraft acceptance documentation.
• Reviewing weight and balance calculations.
• Reviewing weather information and pilot qualifications.
• Releasing flights.
• Delaying or cancelling flights if unsafe conditions threaten the safety of flight.
• Tracking outgoing and incoming flights. Notifying Assistant Chief Pilot of any overdue aircraft.
• Before releasing an aircraft for a flight ensuring the aircraft will not overfly any of its required inspections and that there are no open squawks or aircraft issues. Reporting any open squawks or aircraft issues to Maintenance Management.
• Maintaining student records in TFBO.
• Invoicing to include but not limited to flights, fuel sales and ramp fees and pilot supplies.
• Communicating with line service on refueling of aircraft.
• Ensuring compliance with FAR 141 company Operations Manual (POM).
• Ensuring compliance with company’s Safety Practices & Procedure Manual

 

Job Qualifications:

– Minimum of 3 years FAR 141 of FAR 61 or FAR 135 Dispatcher or Flight Operations management experience

– FAA Dispatch license is not required (but would be preferred)
