Maintenance On-Site Representative (OSR)
Overview
Reporting to the Director – Maintenance, the Maintenance On Site Representative (OSR) oversees the management of all areas of Heavy and Vendor Maintenance to produce and direct activities for the maintenance of all company owned/leased operated aircraft, support equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Co-develops with Maintenance Control the formulation and implementation of long and short range planning for Maintenance planning, programs, objectives and policies.
- co-develops and implements procedures for maintaining high standards of aircraft maintenance operations to ensure aircraft conform to all FAA/TCA/EUSA, ExpressJet Maintenance Program and manufacturers quality standards.
- Tracks headcount requirements and offers recommendations to the Director.
- Assists and manages controls for Maintenance operations budget for his/her location or group.
- Identifies, develops, recommends, and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost, rework and scrap for his group.
- Directs and monitors Heavy and Vendor Maintenance of all fleet types to ensure goals of the Maintenance Operations organization plans are on target.
- Acts as a liaison for his/her location between internal and external department leaders to ensure proper communications of decisions and policy changes that effect their performance and results.
- Assists in training, and envelopment for new OSRs.
- Assists Manager on evaluations of the OSR Group performance. Take corrective actions as necessary in a timely manner within company policy to address any deficiencies in performance.
- Ensures compliance with all current federal, state, local and company labor requirements.
- Directs and coordinates the implementation of programs essential to operational sustainability and consistency for his group and the airline (e.g. safety, cost reduction, security, 5S, training employee involvement, etc.).
- Coordinates all necessary sub-vendor aspects during the Heavy or Vendor Maintenance Visit including Quality, Materials, and work performed on the aircraft.
- Coordinates with Engineering in the development of accurate and cost effective repair schemes to optimize down time.
- Provides constant monitoring and continued surveillance to enhance and encourage on-going improvements into work process and performance.
- Responsible for all fleet types as assigned in their job duties.
- Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.
Qualifications
- Maintain a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License and required aircraft specific MMR release authority with current RII status.
- Valid and current driver’s license.
- 1 year of experience in aviation management or 3 years of aviation management or leadership experience with no Associate degrees as stated above. Preferably experience is with an airline or aircraft MRO with responsibilities for leading a workforce of employees.
- Travel: This position requires up to 100% travel and could include some international travel.
- Must have a valid passport with the ability to travel in/out of USA.
Preferred
- Associate of Arts or Science degree in Aviation, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline preferred.
