NDT Level III Inspector

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform UT inspection using automated inspection systems and handheld techniques.
  • Determine acceptability of aircraft components, composite bonded assemblies, in accordance with applicable specifications.
  • Operate state of the art robotic NDT machinery, Kuka, by using and following established procedures.
  • Perform manual mode inspection of components/assemblies utilizing phased array instrumentation in immersion or flooded part environments.
  • Evaluate and interpret NDT scans of composite materials.
  • Produce reports and ensure all appropriate records of inspection including rejection reports as applicable accurately and timely.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of equipment.
  • Ensure all gauging and equipment is in properly calibrated.
  • Detect faulty operations and materials and report these and other problems to immediate supervisor.
  • Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations
  • Provide training to others as required.

Job Type:

Full-time, Direct Hire position.

Required education:

Associates degree (2 year technical program); high school diploma only will be considered based on industry experience level.
Required experience:

Minimum of 5 years of current experience in non-destructive testing within an aerospace manufacturing environment; composites NDT experience is space systems, motorsports, marine or armament will also be considered.

1-2 years maintaining a Level II or Level III proficiency in Ultrasonic (UT) for non-destructive testing of parts relating to Aerospace.

Experience with automated data collection systems; ultrasonic phased array systems and sandwich carbon fiber composite materials.
Omni scan. Automated inspection, NAS 410 experience a plus.

Required Skills

Must have the ability to read and interpret customer specifications and drawings

Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, good communications skills

Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to use a standard Desktop (PC) computer and Windows-based tools to produce original documents including sketches, plans, procedures and reports.

Employee must be able to pass an annual eye examination.
