Production Manager, F-15 Modification Program


PLEASE NOTE: This Position Requires U.S. Citizenship due to ITAR and Security Requirements.   No Exceptions.

Job Summary:

Production manager ensures that the department within his scope, reaches and sustains production goals, within budget, and with a high level of quality. Production Manager will use the resources within the conversion installation facility to meet the goals for production of the program. Directs day-to-day operations. Responsible for deliverables and all logistics associated with meeting program baseline schedule. Involved in both the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures that production schedules are kept to meet customer and program demand. Monitors the production processes and adjusts accordingly through team environment.
  1. Directs staff and resources to meet production goals in the most efficient manner. Is responsible for labor and material resources.
  1. Able to determine work schedules and overtime, allocation of resources and resolves problems as they occur.
  1. Employs lean manufacturing methods, allowing for the allocation of resources in the most efficient manner to meet production goals.
  1. In charge of coordinating, planning, and most importantly, controlling the manufacturing/production process.
  1. Works to improve efficiency and meet production goals while ensuring the quality of the deliverable. Ensures that the final product meets quality standards and includes measures to correct the process when it does not.
  1. Implements training / retention programs, and works with employees to resolve problems that hinder efficiency and cause delays in production.
  1. Promotes team spirit and ensures a good working relationship within his department and with other departments and the customer.
  1. Supervises and motivates production supervisors and the workforce, reviewing the performance of supervisors and subordinates, and conducting evaluations.
  1. Will work to identify, eliminate, and/or minimize root causes. Ensures that health, security, and safety guidelines are followed.
  1. Interact among the different program departments, e.g. logistics, quality, providing support to other managers as required. Able to fill in for other managers when they are absent.
  1. Performs extra duties as prescribed by Program higher Management.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a degree in aviation, business management, engineering, business administration or relevant field
  • Experience in fighter aircraft flightline operations or production environment
  • Prior USAF F-15 aircraft maintenance and operations experience highly preferred
  • Must have 10 years on-aircraft experience and be able to become knowledgeable of the policies and procedures governing foreign military sales programs
  • Must possess computer skills e.g. Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must have strong writing and briefing/presentation skills
  • USAF SR. NCO F-15 FLIGHTLINE PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT EXPERIENCE HIGHLY DESIRABLE
