Quality Engineer – Aerospace Manufacturing / MRO

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer is responsible for administering the company Quality Management system in accordance with industrial, customer, and company requirements. Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to modification processes and procedures. Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Directs Quality Management System and ensures quality problems are identified and resolved. Monitors Production Department’s conformance with Quality Assurance standards and procedures.
  2. Evaluates systems, analyzes data, evaluates products and technology and establishes quality control procedures. Conducts Quality Management System training for all company employees.
  1. Suggests methods for improving product quality or manufacturing processes Oversees inspections and audits both internally and third-party.
  1. Participates in vendor evaluations Interfaces with customers and vendors on Quality related problems.
  1. Investigates product quality problems and recommends changes or improvements Maintains proper documentation and reports.
  1. Performs inspections where necessary to support inspection and production Supervises the Inspection activities in the manufacturing facility.
  1. Knowledgeable of occupational hazards and safety precautions and be able and willing to coach others in complying with program policies and procedures related to such. Follows all safety policies and procedures.
  1. Ensure process specs, drawings and other technical documentation is current and updated.
  1. Reports any and all potential safety hazards, incidents, accidents, and other program concerns to management.
  1. Study task operations and task sequence, material flow, organization charts, and project information to determine most efficient worker functions and responsibilities.

Qualifications / Licenses / Experience

– Bachelor’s degree in engineering

– Requires a minimum of 7 years aviation / industrial engineering experience, or equivalent background

– Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and process specs.

– Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

– Knowledge of statistics, learning curve methodology, lean principles, and their applications. Applies statistical methods to estimate future potential manufacturing requirements and benefits.
