SVP of Sales

Job Title:  Senior Vice President of Sales – Americas

Employment location:  Work-from-home/remote

Reports to:  President of company (Americas)

Responsible for:   Outside Sales Team, North America

Purpose of Role:

  • Work with President and other senior managers to create a high-performing sales organization
  • Build, performance manage and lead the passenger sales team for key regions within the Americas
  • Work and coordinate with other members of Americas leadership team i.e. product managers, marketing, HR to develop overall sales strategies of products in segments across key regions in the Americas
  • To help identify and drive cross-selling opportunities across the portfolio product lines
  • Work in conjunction with leadership team in other regions to coordinate regional sales strategies and share best practices

Key Job Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy

  • Responsible for developing sales strategy(ies) and implementing related business objectives across Americas in line with Senior management and President objectives.
  • Work in conjunction with SVP’s of Business Aviation, Commercial Passenger Charter, Cargo, ACMI and OBC as well as the Marketing managers to develop country/region-specific plans in line with Sales Strategies and to support the maintenance of relationships with existing and new clients, as well as suppliers, to generate further business.
  • Monitor progress against the Sales Strategy and provide updates to senior management on a regular basis, highlighting any issues or concerns making recommendations for action where applicable.

Team Management

  • Build and manage high performing sales team. This includes working with individual team members in developing strategies, individual and collective targets and performance managing team to those targets.
  • Monitor and review (on weekly basis) with sales team members their activities and progress towards individual targets.
  • Proactively identify weak performers and develop personal improvement plans (PIP).
  • Provide training, mentoring and sales support to team members when needed.

Business Development

  • Proactively identify opportunities to grow the business in new and existing markets to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Keep up to date with competitor activity to identify business opportunities.
  • Work towards and in line with all agreed group sales and operations strategies.
  • Work in partnership with the local broker departments by providing them with all relevant information and supporting them throughout the brokering process.

Client Relationship Management

  • Liaise with clients to identify requirements and provide suitable, competitive aircraft charter solutions.
  • Visit potential, new and existing customers with a view to generate further business.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with both key clients and new business leads to maximize business opportunities and increase client loyalty in an industry where client retention is never guaranteed.

Communication

Participate in conference calls to ensure effective sharing of information and full awareness of others in each area of the organization

Keep up to date with activities of other internal sales professionals using the appropriate network of communication.

Treat sensitive data with care and in a confidential and professional manner. 

Leadership

  • Provide leadership by example and hands-on support to Sales staff.
  • Foster a highly collaborative, commercial approach to inter-company business encouraging greater communication at all levels.

Correlation with

  • To work in correlation with department heads of each segment to ensure both operational and sales activities are aligned and work in harmony with each other.
  • To actively build strong rapport with the key internal stakeholders to ensure the strategy is implemented effectively.
  • To work in conjunction with the yearly strategies laid out by the Executive Committee, Product Directors and local management.
