Vice President of Audits (Aviation)


We are seeking an experienced individual to manage audit programs with respect to IATA’s (International Air Transport Association) IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) program. The candidate must meet the following requirements: 1. Be a self-starter   2.  A leader within the organization.

Supervises:

IOSA Lead Auditors — (approx. 5)

IOSA Auditors — (approx. 30)

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have Airline Safety Auditing experience
  • Must hold Airman or Mechanic Certificate with FAA, EASA or equivalent.
  • Must obtain and maintain qualification as an IOSA Auditor; including qualification as an Auditor in at least one specific discipline
  • Should have platform teaching experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Be willing to travel globally without restriction to perform audits and attend meetings

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop new opportunities in areas of auditing and training globally
  •  Manage a team of globally based auditors.
  • IOSA (IATA Operation Safety Audit) / IAT Training (IATA)
  • Maintain and improve IOSA Administrative management system
  • Maintain IATA Training Organization (ITO)
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining the company’s accreditation as an Audit Organization (AO) in accordance with (IPM Section 1); and company ITO program manual
  • Ensure that the company is in conformity with all IOSA Program requirements so long as it is an accredited AO. Further, ensures that, if IATA revises its IOSA Program requirements, the company responds with revisions to its policies and procedures to remain in conformity
  • Responsible for IOSA Records System
  • Develop and revise, as necessary, IOSA policies and procedures and ensure that these policies and procedures are available to all IOSA Program personnel
  • Manage all IOSA Auditing Activity
  • Responsible for auditor and support staffing for IOSA operations
  • Maintain listing of approved auditors, verify auditor qualifications, and coordinate auditor accreditation with IATA
  • Responsible for control and surveillance of Audit Activities and Auditor Performance
  • For each IOSA, designate team members and schedule audit in accordance with Auditee and Auditor requirements and availability
  • Develop and instruct Auditor Recurrent Training
  • Schedule IAT Training Courses
  • Perform the functions of Lead Auditor

 Other Duties, as appropriate:

  • Perform budget analysis on program
  • Presentations and papers at conferences involving system safety processes
  • Support Studies and Research projects appropriate to qualifications for the management consulting unit
  • Organize and lead “special audits” or assessment as required by clients
