Vice President of Sales


JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
Aviation Recruiting is seeking a well-seasoned industry professional to lead the team handling all aspects of our sales, marketing and relationship management activity.

The VP of Sales will be responsible for leading the sales team to meet revenue targets by securing contracts with airlines and expanding relationships with key contacts from hotel chains, management companies, and independent hotels to increase the company’s awareness in the market place.  In addition, the VP of Sales will support in managing existing client relationships with our Airline and Cruise Line partners.

  • Implement marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales revenue
  • Focus on securing new prospects that fit into the company’s “ideal customer profile”
  • Implement global sales programs by developing field sales action plans
  • Maintain sales pipeline by keeping current with changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
  • Effectively manage the solicitation of business from new and existing accounts to exceed specific individual and company revenue objectives
  • Create powerful presentations to be used to solicit agreements from our clients
  • Maintain and lead global sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Maintain and lead national sales staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Develop and maintain key hotel relationships with hotel chains, management companies, and independent hotels to increase the company’s awareness in the market place
  • Proactively execute a client relationship management plan to consistently meet and follow up with our clients and support to ensure delivery expectations are met and exceeded
  • Understand all client operational and technical deliverables to best position company solutions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position is directly responsible for leading managers of the division and indirectly responsible for all employees within the division.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel:

This position requires frequent travel, more than 50%.  Most travel is outside the local area and overnight. Some of the travel is international.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales and marketing or related field
  • Established (at least 15 years’) experience in the travel industry and working closely with airlines and/or hotels is a must
  • Minimum 10 years’ leadership/ management experience
  • Ability to effectively manage work load in a fast – paced atmosphere relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Solid judgment and leadership skills
  • Shows attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality work
  • Ability to positively present the company in customer facing situations
  • Is clear in their communication and lays out clear expectations to each member of their team
  • Provide leadership in development of inter-team communication and cohesiveness, sustaining culture and supporting staff during organizational growth
