General Manager of Operations (Engine MRO) – HYBRID position in South Florida

Job Title: General Manager of Operations (Engine MRO)
Employment Location: Hialeah Gardens, FL (HYBRID – 3 days a week in-office and 2 days a week remote/work-from-home).
Principal Responsibilities and Activities:
Employee in this position will be responsible for and/or perform the following tasks in order to increase revenue and profitability to budget targets:
- Production Management
- Ensure that the shop identifies and tracks all parts requirements (both procurement and repairs) for each engine input as early in the process as possible.
- Establish timelines for each engine input by activity to include all pacing items and corresponding estimated time to completion.
- Prioritize and report on the current engine projects into an ongoing Production/Repair job schedule and communicate such priorities effectively.
- Establish and maintain best practices including effective project flow, checklists, etc., in accordance to quality and operations manuals.
- Operations Management
- Identify, price, and catalog procurement of equipment and tooling requirements.
- Review and establish with the team new/next capabilities for planned growth, including participation in annual forecasting and resourcing budget plans. Required items for 2024 are making the component clean/NDT line operational and introducing a functional ERP system.
- Introduce systems to more efficiently control quality of workmanship and business operations.
- Sales and Marketing Management
- Build and manage target accounts proactively with the sales team, including required travel.
- Establish and negotiate sales of services at targeted gross profit levels.
- Maintain superior communications with customer accounts and appropriate staff throughout the transaction process including ERP/TEAMS entries and systematic touch points with all targeted accounts.
- Maintain and communicate to managers and stakeholders appropriate market knowledge (customer trends, repair innovation, pricing trends, competitive evaluations) for all services provided.
- Manage website and social media outlets with accurate messages and announcements.
- HR Management
- Identify next hire requirements through staff discussions.
- Create Job Descriptions and compensation ranges for review.
- Candidate recruitment, interview, and selection process.
- Direct training of new hires.
Desired Background:
Employer seeks a candidate with managerial experience regarding MRO facilities similar to employer and has demonstrated sales success with an established customer base.
The candidate should be/have excellent communication skills, organized, a team player, a can-do attitude, task oriented, coachable, adaptable, professional, and punctual, a self-starter that requires little supervision. Bi-lingual skill in Spanish is highly desired.
Full time, in office position A college degree or commensurate experience and a good working knowledge with Microsoft Office are necessary. This full-time position has a competitive salary, commission plan and benefits.
