APU/Repair Service Technician – Miramar, FL

Job Title: APU/Repair Service Technician

Employment location: Miramar, FL

Summary

Aviation technician troubleshoots, repairs, and/or overhauls, and test aircraft components to include the removal and reinstallation of all sub-components. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work involves disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and test of those components serviced and piece parts of the repair station manual.
  • Applies technical knowledge of aircraft components in determining equipment malfunctions.
  • Applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation.
  • Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturer’s manuals.
  • Will be required to make entries in work order documentation for work performed.
  • Provides other duties as needed and assigned.
  • Understand and perform functions in accordance with FAA, EASA, AS9110, and ISO9001 Standards

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum four years of actual and recent experience in the repair, modification, maintenance, and overhaul, testing of APU.
  • 36-150 APU Series experience preferred.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings, and other small scales.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklifts, etc.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills; ability to interact positively with teammates at various levels across the company and with customers.
  • Must be able to read dials/gauges, and identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Fluent in English
  • Foreign Language skills desirable
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and document maintenance functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across mediums, audiences, and situations
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., over 40 lbs. with assistance.
