FAR 135 Asst DOM (Helicopter fleet) – Phoenix, AZ

Position Summary:
Under the general guidance of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the employer and directly reporting to Director, Maintenance, this position assures that all aircraft operated under FAR 135 are maintained in accordance with current FAA Regulations, Manufacturers Maintenance Manuals, and/or company directives, without compromise to safety of the aircraft or personnel in a timeframe that meets or exceeds operations requirements. Direct and assist Field Maintenance Managers in maintaining the cosmetic appearance and condition of the aircraft assigned to their region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily activities of the field bases.
- Assure AOG Aircraft are being repaired in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and assist with daily Field Maintenance oversight.
- Advise Maintenance Managers in matters concerning aircraft maintenance and/or personnel activities.
- Works with Director of Maintenance and Maintenance Managers ensuring qualified and adequate personnel are assigned to each maintenance location.
- Keep COO and Director of Maintenance appraised of unusual problems, conditions and/or developments.
- Works with maintenance leadership team ensuring field base parts stock, special tools, ground support equipment to ensure proper quantities on hand.
- Assist with administration of MEL Program and Mechanical Interrupted Flight Reports.
- Conduct field base visits and hold formal or informal meetings with personnel.
- Ensures company’s Aircraft Cosmetic Program remains in compliance.
- Assist and participates with maintenance department with proper submission of Self Disclosure Reports and develop Comprehensive Fixes as required.
- Request Special Flight Permits for aircraft maintenance in accordance with 14CFR 21.197.
- Assist Flight, Business, and Clinical Operations in establishing new bases of operation.
- Assist Marketing Department and Business Units in responding to RFPs.
- Participate in Maintenance and Operational Board Hearings, Maintenance and Production/Planning Meetings.
- Schedule meetings with Field Maintenance Managers as appropriate.
- Maintain and administer changes to Operations Specifications as appropriate.
Qualification Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Hold a Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Power plant.
- At least 10 years of Maintenance experience as a Certified Mechanic on helicopters, including recent experience (as required by FAR. 65.83) on type and class of aircraft operated by company – which includes: EC135, AS350 B3E, Bell 407, H14D3, EC145C, S-76 C++. AW 139 and H160.
- Leadership experience, 5 plus years in the Aviation industry.
- Have knowledge of the maintenance sections of company manuals, Operations Specifications, FAR’s, possess basic skills in communications and management.
- This position is designated Safety Sensitive for purposes of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act.
