Job Summary:
The Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic will be responsible for General Aviation Single Piston and Multi Piston aircraft.
Job Duties:
- Perform routine inspections, repairs, overhauls, modifications of aircraft structures, systems, power plants and signoffs, in accordance with applicable standards/specifications and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Reports directly to the Director of Maintenance and will assist other A&P mechanics in assigned tasks.
- Perform annual, 50-hour, 100-hour inspections on a wide range of piston engine aircraft ensuring all airworthiness directives and airworthiness requirements are in compliance.
- Effectively interact and communicate in a professional manner with customers.
- Efficiently manage work hours and properly track labor hours for billing purposes.
- Possess a working knowledge of aircraft manuals.
- Assist the Director of Maintenance in creating maintenance estimates and/or ordering aircraft parts.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude.
- Daily maintenance activities, this is a “hands on” position.
- Ensuring proper compliance with CFR’s, inspection programs, tool programs, FAA guidance/orders.
- Interaction with FAA, when required.
- Compliance with Drug Abatement programs.
- Compliance of company manuals.
- Daily Quality Control.
- Quality Control of maintenance.
- Workflow management.
- Bringing in new clients.
- Airline callouts. – additional hourly rate plus callout bonus.
- Report any identified risks to CEO.
Job Qualifications:
- Possess a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license.
- Minimum of Three (3) years’ experience, prefer five (5) years, with General Aviation aircraft (single and multi-piston)
- Ability to test for and successfully obtain Inspection Authority certificate (IA testing to be paid for by company)
- Strong communication skills verbal and written.
- Obtain/maintain TSA clearance.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
