OpenShift Specialist (Configuration) – Remote

Title: OpenShift Specialist (Configuration Management)
Work Location: Remote
**COVID-19 Procedures: On-boarding may require 1-2 visits to Patuxent River, MD (or on-boarding may be handled remotely). Training will be virtual and telework maximized/permitted to the greatest extent possible, however training/tasking may require on-site work a few hours per week. Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received.

Skills and experience in:
- Platforms such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, OpenShift, and Ansible
- Containerization solutions such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Automation scripting: Perl, Bash, Shell, Python
- Implementing security best practices on OpenShift components
- Performance optimization for OpenShift workloads
- Pod scheduling and cluster scaling to optimize resource allocation
- Understanding network principles related to OpenShift Cluster (DNS, Load balancing, Firewalls)Diagnosing and resolving issues during OpenShift installation and operation
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Qualifications
- Linux Administration
- Extensive hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift container platform
- Strong knowledge of DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure
- Familiar/Experienced with Kubernetes
- Understands network principles related to OpenShift Cluster (DNS, Load balancing, Firewalls)
- Experience implementing security best practices on OpenShift components
- Experience with Automation Tools (Ansible) used to stream line deployment/maintenance
- Experience optimizing system performance for OpenShift workload
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years OR Master’s Degree with 8+ years of professional IT experience
- Note: Relevant certifications and additional qualifications are a plus.
Security Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance with SSBI. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
